hi!
i’m annie.
I am a self-taught embroidery artist from Michigan.
My work focuses on a variety of Catholic themes, ranging from marian devotion to the lives of the saints. Drawing inspiration from my faith journey, I use the medium of embroidery as both a creative outlet & a contemplative practice.
My pieces are a blend of traditional techniques and innovative mixed materials. I tend to use unique methods of display, which invites viewers into moments of reflection, beauty, and reverence.
I began creating art a few years after my mother’s passing, turning to thread and fabric as a way to navigate grief. What began as a personal act of healing evolved into an almost prayerful practice - one that continues to shape my spiritual journey and artistic voice.
My Catholic-focused work first debuted at the Aquinas College Symposium on the True, Good, and Beautiful in 2024. I was also honored to exhibit at ArtPrize in Grand Rapids, Michigan in fall 2025 and at Roots Brew Shop in spring 2026!
I will be exhibiting in Art Prize once again in fall 2026 as Roots Brew Shop will be hosting my piece, Now We See Dimly!
