hi,
i’m annie.
I am a self-taught embroidery artist based in Michigan.
My work centers on Catholic themes, particularly Marian devotion, prayer, and spiritual reflection. Drawing inspiration from my faith journey, I use the medium of embroidery for both creative expression and contemplative practice. My work blends traditional techniques with innovative mixed materials and interesting displays, inviting viewers into moments of stillness, beauty, and reverence.
I began creating art a few years after my mother’s passing, turning to thread and fabric as a way to navigate grief. What began as a personal act of healing evolved into an almost prayerful practice - one that continues to shape my spiritual journey and artistic voice.
My Catholic-focused work debuted at the Aquinas College Symposium on the True, Good, and Beautiful in 2024 and again in 2025. This fall, I am honored to exhibit at ArtPrize in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
