After my mother’s passing in 2017, I turned to embroidery as a way to preserve her memory—thread offered a permanence that paper could not. But no matter how carefully I stitched her image, something was always missing: her spirit. Grief soon intertwined with a spiritual searching. I found myself in a crisis of faith, unable to feel God's presence. Through Eucharistic adoration—a prayer my mother loved—I began to encounter Him again. This embroidered portrait of the Imago Dei emerged from those quiet hours. The red reflects Christ’s passion; the gold threads and beads shimmer with the hope of salvation. Though still unfinished in spirit, this work represents a journey of healing, presence, and revelation.
